For a second I thought we were at home in Texas... but then I realized something was wrong in the picture: the cars were unalike, and the gas prices were way different! Is that the price per gallon, or per liter? can someone shed some light on this please?
sisi, I think the price is 93.5 pence per liter. If that is true, it means one liter costs almost 2 dollars. If my maths are not wrong, 4 liters make up a gallon, bringing everything to an amazing total of 8 dollars per gallon??? no way! I have to be wrong! I hate being wrong!!!
on the other hand, if the price is 93.5 per gallon, then everything comes down to almost 4 dollars per gallon. Now, that makes more sense!... doesn't it?
Recently I heard in a piece on NPR's "Morning Edition" that gasoline in England is about 5 pounds (= $10) per gallon. But that's an imperial gallon, they said, which equals about 5 of our quarts, SO... $8 per gallon would be about right. It's the tax that makes it cost so much.
